Last week, it was announced that Ruby on Rails 7.0 would require Ruby 2.7 as the minimum supported version. However, Ruby 3.0 was a major release with lots of changes and some people are still more familiar with Ruby 2.x first. On Christmas Day 2020, the core team released version 3.0 with major improvements and new features. It has an elegant syntax that is natural to read and easy to write (from the Ruby web site). Ruby is forced to overcome her reliance on Trevor and become a stronger person. It's then revealed that the final demon is an embodiment of Trevor. Once she has conquered some of her demons, she is then strong enough to be the bigger person when it comes to her bully, but the world she in isn't real, so neither is that Noelle. Ruby is then forced to learn how to fight her own battles in order to reunite with Trevor and escape. The monsters are just meant to be Ruby's inner demons.Īs you play through Trevor is intended to be stronger and then you end up separated from him. Trevor comforts her and Ruby falls into her own world (we hadn't had time to make a new tile set unfortunately to better represent a different atmosphere). You're introduced to her main bully Noelle and her main defender Trevor. I intended for the story to follow Ruby, a mute girl who is unable to defend herself against her bullies. For the story, it was my first time writing a narrative/dialogue and even just creating a game in general.
